The Black Emeralds were created in 2005 under the direction of J. Bonner for his own JanDisc label.
Primarily a studio band consisting of core musicians Jason "JC"Castillo (drums), Lino Trujillo (guitar), Selina Cona (percussion), Tom Cook (T-bone) and J. Bonner (bass/mixing engineer) make up the sound that is the Black Emeralds.
